Men's Division Regulations

The Men's Division is governed by the same Code of Conduct that applies to all of CAA. Please also note the following division rules, regulations, and policies that may differ from those of other leagues:
Match Regulations
  • Every game is opened with a volunteer-led prayer. We believe in committing the event to God.
  • Matches are 80 minutes in length (two 40-minute halves).
  • Any profane language is a yellow-card offense.
  • A player receiving a yellow card must leave the field for five minutes. He may be replaced by a substitute during that time. The non-playing time is designed as a cooling-off period, is a straight five minutes, and may be satisfied by halftime and other breaks.
  • There is no limit to the number of substitutions allowed, and once subbed out, a player may return to the match. Substitution rules are as follows:
    1. Substitutes must wait at midfield and may only enter the field when motioned by the referee.
    2. No substitutions are permitted when the ball is in play.
    3. A yellow-carded player may be replaced when leaving the field for the five-minute cooling-off period.
    4. An injured player may be replaced at the referee's discretion.
    5. On free kicks, no substitutions are allowed. (Exception: On penalty kicks, only the defending goalkeeper may be substituted.)
    6. On kickoffs and goal kicks, both teams may substitute.
    7. On corner kicks and throw-ins, the team with ball possession has a right to substitute. If that team exercises its right to substitute, the other may substitute as well.
Player Eligibility
  • Every player must wear shin guards.
  • Every player must present a valid player pass to the referee before playing.
  • A player accumulating a third yellow card during the season will be suspended for the next game. Once the suspension has been served, his yellow-card record is wiped clean.
  • A player receiving a red card, whether direct or as a result of two yellows, will be suspended for the next game. Any previously-accumulated yellow cards will remain on his record after the red-card suspension.
Competition Regulations
  • The season consists of regular-season play followed by a playoff tournament. Winner of the playoffs is the season's champion.
  • Playoff seeding is determined by regular-season standings.
  • Final regular-season standings are based on points earned. If two or more teams are level on points, they are split by (a) higher number of points obtained in the matches played among the teams in question, (b) superior goal difference from the matches played among the teams in question (c) superior goal difference from all matches played, (d) higher number of goals scored, (e) coin toss.
